Thy Household Stuff

Holy Bible, King James Version, Thomas Nelson, ©1984, Genesis 31:37
UPDATE 10/1/2019:  The changes discussed below continue to happen.  Look at Matthew, Chapter 1 of the KJV.  "Judah" is now "Judas".  Amazing!

Dearest brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ,

I am writing this to reassure and encourage you.  God is doing an amazing thing.  Truly amazing!

The other day, I wrote a post about our "Owner's Manual," and how it should be the Holy Spirit.  If you have not read it, please do so before you read this new post.  You may not understand what I am saying here if you don't.

Have you checked your King James (KJV) Bible lately?  Some things have changed in the "inerrant Scriptures."  Do a search on Bible Gateway using the word "stuff" in the KJV.  If you click here, I've already done it for you.  Here are some examples of what you will see:
(Genesis 31:37)  Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.
(Exodus 22:7)  If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
(Joshua 7:11)  Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
(1 Samuel 10:22)  Therefore they enquired of the Lord further, if the man should yet come thither. And the Lord answered, Behold he hath hid himself among the stuff.
(1 Samuel 25:13)  And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.
(1 Samuel 30:24)  For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.
(Nehemiah 13:8)  And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff to Tobiah out of the chamber.
(Ezekiel 12:7)  And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.
And, of course, it is in the New Testament, too:
(Luke 17:31)  In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
This is not just in the Bible Gateway electronic on-line database of the KJV Bible.  It looks like every single KJV Bible, new and old, has been affected.  Go get the dusty one on your bookshelf, and find the one in the box in your basement.  It looks like they all now say "stuff."  The picture, above, is from a KJV Bible I've had for years with a copyright of 1984.  There are other changes, too, but this one is the most obvious I have seen so far.  It looks like some other translation versions have been affected, as well.  The Revised Standard Version (RSV) has the word "stuff" in more places than the KJV, so it is not confined to just one version.  Go look for yourself and see what you can find!  (Yes, it is in other versions, too!  I looked.  Amazing!)

A beloved sister in Christ pointed this out to me after I wrote the "Owner's Manual" post, along with numerous examples of other "changes" happening to things in our lives.  At her prompting, we looked at my wife's jar of Bragg's apple cider vinegar, and it is now "Bragg" apple cider vinegar.  My wife knows it was "Bragg's" before.  Many people are panicking, quoting scripture and pointing at the Devil.  I was certainly disconcerted when I first saw this, and I told my sister in Christ we needed to pray about it.

For those of you who do not have Western English as a first language, the word "stuff" is a modern term used to loosely describe a collection of things.  It is not a term found in Seventeenth-Century writings, and clearly does not belong in the King James Version.

Anyway, I've asked God about this, and the Holy Spirit tells me this development is to give those who idolize the Bible a chance to repent from that sin.  We are to follow the Holy Spirit, not a book compiled and managed by men (and spiritual entities).  It fits right in with my "Owner's Manual" post, and it is a serious and profound development.  I believe these things are certain:
  • God is sovereign, and he is allowing this to happen.  It is His will.  The mechanism is unimportant, although I believe He has done it himself.  He may also be using similar techniques to discredit other things people are idolizing, but I really don't have anything from Him about that, so I will go no further.
  • This is a big deal because Satan is fighting it hard.  He is trying to discredit the fact that a very old version of the Bible has changed.  He is creating confusion by changing other things, particularly names.  It is probably similar to the Egyptian magicians attempting to duplicate some of the Plagues by using their magic.  I doubt the "Bragg's" change is from God because it only serves to confuse, but I fully see the purpose in the KJV and RSV Bible changes. UPDATE 7/1/2017:  After several months of living with this, I believe the Holy Spirit is telling me that He is doing these things.  I find them encouraging, and they are tangible reminders in my life that "the supernatural" is real and that God can do anything.  Most people seem to be blind to these changes, and when I have looked for discussions about this on the Internet I encounter resistance from the Darkness.  Here are some of the things I have noticed changes in, besides what is mentioned above:  Joel Olsteen is now Joel Osteen.  The Ford Motor Company logo has a curlique on the "F."  The Berenstein Bears are now the Berenstain Bears.  Further changes have appeared in different versions of the Bible.  Amazing!

I am not going to debate this, or focus on the turmoil Satan is creating.  I believe God is showing it is error to believe the KJV, RSV, or any other translation of the Bible, is the absolute, complete and inerrant Word of God.  We must not worship the Bible.  We must worship God, and we are to do that by being intimate with the Holy Spirit, and by loving the Truth.

Please, dear brothers and sisters, do not worry.  Do not be afraid.  Do not be angry, or unbelieving or lose trust in God.  He knows what he is doing, and this is truly amazing.  Do not listen to Satan's lies, whether they are whispered to you by his demons, or told to you by your dear, beloved and trusted friends, family and even brothers and sisters in Christ.  Satan is a liar and people are easily deceived.  I certainly was -- see my story here.

I know this is serious business, and I do not take this lightly at all, but when I realized what was happening, I couldn't stop laughing, mainly because the juxtaposition of the modern term within the archaic KJV language is quite ludicrous.  Our amazing God has a tremendous sense of humor.  I have experienced it before in a private matter, and I am overjoyed to be experiencing it now.

Please pray about this -- a lot -- until you are at peace.  Repent, if appropriate.  Satan wants you to be confused, argue with each other, and ultimately fall away from God, but Jesus wants us all to understand what is happening.  He wants us to worship Him only and cast all idols aside -- yes, even the Bible, if we have made it into one.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for sending us the Holy Spirit.  May we all seek Him, truly receive Him, listen to Him and work through Him to glorify your Name!

All glory to God!
